Richard has provided expert advice to over 25 education systems on four continents.

 
 

Richard has worked with local, regional and national education leaders both internationally and in the UK on projects ranging from research and evaluation to policy development, strategic planning, action-focused problem solving and organisational capacity building. Recent projects have included: a major piece of mixed-methods research on education system strengthening in developing countries for the United States Government; a rapid review of school improvement capacity in Welsh local authority; facilitating strategic planning for a national not-for-profit organisation; and research to inform education policy in the Channel islands.

Previously, during a decade with the UK Government, Richard served in high-profile policy and delivery roles, from education and children’s services to counterterrorism. From 2017-2020, Richard served on the executive team of leading education charity The Brilliant Club, overseeing three national programmes to widen access to university.
